An Association of Community Associations |
This letter is to document the official position of the Greater Crofton Council (GCC) regarding the disposal of pozzolans (fly ash) in the Gambrills, Maryland area.
The GCC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization of community associations whose primary goal is to be a unified voice on crucial issues. As the result of focused discussion and review by numerous individuals in the Crofton-Gambrills area, the GCC's official position is that the organization will fully support your position statement to MDE on 19 February 2008. This includes increases in property line set-back requirements, need for on-going air quality testing, regulation of beneficial uses of fly ash, and reimbursement of county expenditures for testing and monitoring of water wells.
Meanwhile, the GCC will continue to co-ordinate our efforts with county and state elected and appointed officials regarding this matter, to include beneficial uses.
Thank you for keeping the fly ash issue in focus and for this opportunity to provide the GCC's input to such a crucial matter, which not only greatly concerns the local citizens, but also has state and national attention.
Sincerely,![]()
